Boris Nikolaev was born in 1951 in Gorky (now Nizhny Novgorod).
He started to take pictures when a schoolboy. Since then he has never parted with his camera.
When he served in the army he published his pictures in newspapers (1969-1971).
In 1973 he got an award of the 3rd degree. In 1977 he got an award of the 1st degree.
Now he is a Senior Teacher in Nizhny Novgorod Law School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
He has organized several exhibitions of his works devoted to his Alma Mater.
In 1997 his works were exhibited in Nizhny Novgorod Blagoveshchensky Abbey and were highly appreciated.
In 1999 he made a new exhibition - �An Orthodoxy�. He is the first to exhibit his work in Nizhny Novgorod state prizon.
